NZ Fitness Industry Awards Finalist
12 months ago I set a list of goals at the 2012 NZ Fitness Awards, while I admired the NZ Personal Training talent, talked with other fitness professionals and discussed options with my business mentor I had finally set myself a list of goals.
One of the goals was to compete in the Up and Coming PT of the year 2013. In February I started writing my entry, brainstorming and fine tuning my PT business. I set mini goals like finishing a business plan and creating a website. I also looked at what I thought an award winning PT is and I started to become that person. I spent more time with the community, I started many new programme, I celebrate my clients success with them, I set professional and personal goals, I live an active lifestyle, I challenge myself, I keep up to date with the latest research and attend international conference. These are qualities and things that I do because that what an AWARD winning trainer should do in my mind. Luckily for myself its fun and I get utter pleasure out of all the above.
Being a trainer is more than prescribing exercise, it’s the best job in the world. I get to help people set goals, achieve goals and become the best they can possibly be.
Being selected as a finalist for the up and coming PT of the year is incredible and I am so proud of how far I have come in the last couple months. Every day is better, every moment is golden and I wouldn’t change anything. Entering the awards has been an amazing experience and I highly recommend entering the fitness industry awards if you are a trainer, mentor or involved with the fitness industry OR if you have a great trainer be sure to nominate them for the awards for 2014.
The awards dinner is on the 23rd November 2013 in Auckland you can get tickets for the evening from www.nzfitnessindustryawards.co.nz or if you email me directly I will send you the link.
I will be sure to let you all know how I get on. Fingers and Toes Crossed!!
